Third Temple Models are built in Tsfat (Safed), Israel by a team of scholars, artists, and craftsmen. Each model is entirely hand-crafted, and takes approximately eight months to build. The design follows the Ramchal’s interpretation, which closely follows Rashi’s commentary on the Book of Ezekiel. The models are built to
a scale of 1:150 (approx. 5 ft. x 5 ft.) and are primarily constructed of acrylic marble and pearl. The gates, pillars, domes, and filigree fencing are 24-kt. gold-plated, based on the verse (Isaiah 60:17) “In the place of copper, I will bring gold.” Three models have been built and are on display in museums in Jerusalem, Tsfat, and New York. Visitors react with excitement and delight when they see these dazzling models of the Holy Temple. People admit being skeptical about a Third Temple ever existing in Jerusalem, but once they see a model, they can imagine the real thing without any problem at all! Accompanying the models are a series of large wall panels showing the overall plan of the Third Temple, a view of the interior of the Heichal (Sanctuary), a blueprint of the southern side of the Temple, and a two-panel History of the Temple.
An audio tour of the model is available for MP3 players to guide visitors around the model. An 18-minute video introduces groups to the meaning and history of the Temple. The full exhibit includes a Third Temple Art Gallery and Gift Shop.
Third Temple Models can attract thousands of visitors to museums, schools, community centers and other organizations, making Third Temple Models a powerful educational and fundraising tool.
